A Warm Hello to All of You!

Over the last year, I've been quick to explain that

protecting one's memory is a multi-dimensional project:

Nutrition, exercise, mental exercise, positive attitudes,

avoidance of toxins, drugs, alcohol abuse, improperly

mixed medications, illness, trauma and stress--all of these

are pieces to the memory loss puzzle.

But I hope I have also made it clear that there are some

incredible memory enhancers out there, which are also very

helpful to the brain.

The two most important ones, I cannot overstress! I have

heard so many personal testimonies from people who added

the following two nutrients to their diet:

Phosphatidyl serine (PS) and Phosphatidyl choline (PC).

Plus the research backs me up--these two together, PS & PC,

are excellent in aiding memory!

Let's look at what our featured author, Dr. Daniel Amen

shares on the subject by reviewing an excerpt from his

book, "Healing ADD."

And a 'heads up' goes out to my friend Ralph Andrea, who

questioned me earlier this week about placebo research.

"Phosphatidyl serine (PS) plays a major role in determining

the integrity and fluidity of brain cell membranes.

Normally the brain can manufacture sufficient levels of PS,

but if there is a deficiency of folic acid, vitamin B12, or

essential fatty acids, the brain may not be able to make

enough.

Low levels of PS are also associated with memory problems

and depression in the elderly. I often recommend PS as a

supplement for memory problems.

There are eighteen double-blind studies that report how

effective PS can be for memory issues.

In the largest study, 494 elderly patients (ages 63 to 93)

with moderate to severe senility were given PS (100 mgs

three times a day) or a placebo for six months.

The patients were assessed for cognitive function,

behavior, and mood at the beginning and end of the study.

Statistically significant improvements in all three areas

were noted in the PS group.

I recommend that my patients take 100 milligrams twice a

day for two weeks then, if needed, [increase to] 100

milligrams three times a day for memory."

And there's much more proof about the helpfulness of this

"lipid" nicknamed "PS." No one can study PS without noting

the research of Dr. Paris Kidd which reveals more excellent

memory improvements.

So, please take two to three 100 mg Phosphatidyl serine (PS)

& one 500 mg Phosphatidyl choline (PC) daily.

If you can only remember to take one PS in the morning, just

start by doing that!

Should you care to investigate various prices or purchase

If you realize that PS & PC are simply precursors to normal

brain fluids with virtually no side affects, taking them

makes a lot of sense no matter the age.

Some people will try to tell you PC is just Choline or

Lecithin. No, it's a derivative, but is much more highly

concentrated alone than in the Choline or Lecithin form.

Adding any of these other Memory Enhancing Vitamins: 

Bacopa Monniera, Huperzine A, Vinpocetine, COQ10, Alpha 

Lipoic Acid or Acetyl-L-Carnitine can help also. Remember, 

everyone's needs are slightly different. So people usually 

experiment and find combinations that work for them.

But wait!

If your daily vitals like high potency Vitamin B Complex 100

with Folic Acid, your Omega 3 (up to 1000 mg), Magnesium or

Zinc are missing--you won't do yourself any good--no matter

what else you take!

So always take, at the very least, the high quality B

Complex 100, a Multi-Vitamin, and Omega 3 as the memory’s

foundation first!

Then add the PS and PC. From there you can experiment

with the other Memory Enhancing Vitamins mentioned above

if you like. My MEMX product includes one of them, Bacopa

Monniera.

Also, increase your spinach, asparagus, broccoli, leafy

greens, cauliflower, blueberries, strawberries, berries

in general, watermelon and tomatoes.

Eat your eggs and ocean fish--like salmon, sardines,

and herring. You will have less need for concern about the

toxins in fish if you take that 1000 mg of Omega 3 or a 

teaspoon of Omega 3-6-9 oil every day. Nutra Sea Omega is 

sold here!

Avocadoes, walnuts, almonds, and flax-seed are also helpful

to memory. Olive oil and coconut are your best cooking oils.

Even spicing things up with cinnamon, curry, turmeric and

lemon can be helpful.

On top of that, I hope you are drinking distilled, purified, 

filtered, or spring water by now. It's really important that you 

have the equivalent of about ten 8-ounce glasses of water or

water-based fluids per day.

When I say water-based, you can assume that decaffeinated 

teas (especially green tea) or home-made watery drinks, like

lemonade or water with a touch of real fruit juice are

included. Just keep the sugar content down and the H2O up!

The other nutrient on the website I wish you were getting

more of is three tablespoons of wheat grass powder daily.

Wheat grass is food, vegetables to be exact. For every pound

of wheat grass, you ingest the equivalent of 23 pounds of

vegetable nutrition.

I mix wheat grass powder in water, tea or juice and just pour 

it down in the morning. Then I drink some of the liquid vitamin

products from Biometics while I swallow my PS, PC, and a

teaspoons of Omega 3 oil.

Some days I create a smoothie with ice-cold fruit. Many 

people buy wheat grass live at whole food stores and juice it.

With wheat grass, you have to start slowly and build up to

the three tablespoons. At first you might feel out of sorts

because it removes toxins, but after a week or so wheat grass

makes you much healthier--an energy and memory 

powerhouse!

But whatever you do or don't do--if you want a great memory

insist on getting your PS/PC and basic vitamins.
